Electric vehicles are rising in popularity. As a result of this, an increasing amount of businesses and homeowners are opting to invest in their own EV chargers. There are plenty of benefits of getting an EV charging station installed, such as cheaper pricing and added convenience. Installing your own EV charger can also provide you with more control over the maintenance of your electric vehicle.
If you want to install an EV charging station at your home or business, we can provide you with the best product to suit your needs. We supply a range of commercial, workplace and domestic electric vehicle charging stations, as well as a selection of EV charger accessories; including charging leads, distribution boards and locks.
In addition to EV charging, our Renewables division also offers Solar panels, battery storage and accessories.
As we look to the future, renewable energy has set us on the path in reducing our carbon footprint and helping in tackling issues with climate change. Solar panels absorb the energy that the sun generates, and this can then be converted to use as power for our homes and buildings for electricity and heating. Having solar panels installed can help reduce your electricity bill throughout the year.
If you are looking to invest in solar panels and battery storage, our specialist team will offer a solar PV design service which will help plan out the layout of your PV system and provide you with the best options for your home or business.

Installing an EV charger is typically a straightforward process when conducted by a qualified electrician. The process usually takes around 2 hours in total, during which your installer will examine the area to ensure that it is a suitable location for the installation of your EV charger and then fit the EV charging point onto a brick or plaster wall, or onto an alternative suitable permanent structure such as a mounting base. Your electrician will also conduct all the necessary cablework, test the connections and also provide you with instructions on how to use your new electric vehicle charger. What brands are stocked?
We stock a range of credible electric charger brands. This includes the industry’s most popular names such as ERiS EV, Pod Point, Ohme, MyEnergi, and Easee.
How long will it take to charge my car?
The length of time it will take to charge your electric vehicle will depend on the type of EV charger you use. Generally, a 60 kWh charger car will take approximately 8 hours to completely charge from empty using a 7kW electric charger.
Here at YESSS Electrical, we stock a range of fast charging EV chargers, ranging from 7kW to 22kW. Take a look at our range today.
How much will it cost in electricity?
The cost of charging your electric vehicle will depend on the size of the car battery and the electricity rates charged by your energy supplier. However, generally it can cost around £9.20 to fully charge your electric car using a home EV charger. This is based on an estimated electricity rate of 17p per kWh and a charger car battery of 54kWh.
Do the above 2 points vary by car model or charger brand?
The model of the charger car in terms of its battery size will have an impact on the length of time it takes to charge and the cost of charging it. Typically the bigger the car battery, the longer it may take to charge and the more expensive it may be to charge also.
However, generally the brand of the EV charging station you purchase has no bearing on the charging time or cost; the charging speed of the EV charger usually has the most influence on these matters. Nevertheless, choosing a suitable brand is important as this can offer additional peace of mind, plus added convenience if a brand offers smart features such as WiFi connection and remote control functions.
